Tilted Records

When you think of Seattle, you think of Starbucks and Sub Pop. Brent Laurence and his Tilted Records imprint don't care for either, and are here to rewrite the script with some sultry deep house. With help from the likes of Marques Wyatt, Miguel Migs, Chris Lum, Marc Jellybear, Maureen Parker, and Jay J Hernandez, Laurence has built one of the finest labels the West Coast has to offer. Now maybe people will associate Seattle with the sound of house music rather than the sound of coffee grinding and screeching guitars.

Fog City Players (Jay J and Marques Wyatt)
Slither into the slinky world of Marques Wyatt and Jay J Hernandez -- aka Fog City Players -- for a smooth ride into the sultry sounds of deep house.

Stacy Kidd
Stacy Kidd has recorded for more underground labels than Bjork has had superstar boyfriends. You can hear his deep disco-driven house is played in clubs across the globe, especially in his hometown of Chicago.

Brent Laurence
Brent Laurence's specialty is raw, infectious and extremely funky garage-house. He also runs a label, Tilted, which has licensed work from Miguel Migs and Marc Jellybear, Chris Lum, and Stacy Kidd.

Chris Lum
In terms of production standards, Chris Lum is in the same league as Chris Penny (C Pen), Miguel Migs, and Lance DeSardi. His sweet disco-licking house is purpose-made for deep house players such as Mark Farina and Derrick Carter.

Miguel Migs and Marc Jellybear
Miguel Migs and Marc Jellybear team up to form a San Francisco deep house tour-de-force. Slinky, smooth, soulful -- sibilance is the key to defining the sound of these two left coast innovators.

Maureen Parker
Powerful vocals resound over deep well-produced house beats and smooth synth programming. Maureen Parker is a diva in the truest sense of the word.
