Shaken Not Stirred Recordings

Founded in '93 by Chip Watkins (DJ Who) and Mike Braddy, Shaken Not Stirred Records has risen in stature with a slew of excellent releases from both established and relatively unknown artists. The Icelandic collective Gus Gus are joined by acid jazz connoisseurs Lake Trout, progressive house makers OVA and the label's own DJ Who with his infectious house and breakbeat grooves.

Gus Gus
Gus Gus -- the Icelandic collective of enigmatic producers, filmmakers, and actors -- carved out its name in ice with the song "Polyesterday." Polydistortion and cool beats meet dreamy vocals in a hybrid sound that Bjork pioneered and Gus Gus nailed.

Polyesterday EP - 1996
Gus Gus Vs. T-World - 2000

Lake Trout
Jazzed up jangly grooves in the G. Love vein. Lake Trout is Baltimore's best kept secret.

Volume For the Rest Of It - 1998

OVA
Attention. Set your reception unit to 'E.' OVA will now broadcast a meditative, soul-affirming pulse from a domain where the year is always 1992. Rave onward?and inward.

DJ Who
This music scholar, Anglophile, and classic rock head brings so much funk and soul back to the form of house music, you'll remember how much you used to love it.
