Orgone Recordings is the sister imprint to the hugely successful Breakbeat Science. Both labels, grew out of the Breakbeat Science record store in Manhattan's thriving East Village. While Breakbeat Science focuses on hard-hitting drum and bass from the likes of Dune, DJ Dara, and Pieter K, Orgone concentrates on the more abstract work of up-and-coming North American drum and bass producers such as JL. The label has proved popular with the likes of Moving Shadow's technical whiz Dom & Roland, and the eminent John Peel. Orgone has big plans for the future, so expect to see new up-and-coming names added to this page on a regular basis.
JL
JL is the new kid on the drum and bass block. His recordings for his own label Freshchest, and more recently the Breakbeat Science sister label Orgone, have pricked up the ears of such luminaries as John Peel and Dom & Roland. Is this the new style?
