Kitty-Yo
Berlin-based Kitty-Yo got its start in 1993 when founders Raik Hölzel and Patrick Wagner (of Surrogat) met at Hölzel's weekly radio show. Kitty-Yo artists are sonic collagists who borrow elements from rock and pop, rap and hip hop, house and techno, abstract and experimental, and even jazz, to create heterogenous, forward-looking music that eloquently describes the complex cultural landscape they inhabit.
Couch
Neo-Krautrock from Munich! Couch drifts, slides, and sometimes flies through assorted warm, esoteric instrumental compositions that are equally influenced by experimental jazz and rock music.

Peaches
You might think you've heard everything, but you ain't heard anything quite like Peaches' raw, punk-flavored...hip hop? This Canadian dynamo raps slow hypersexual come-on lyrics over the primitive, slightly ominous beats of her Roland MC505 Groovebox, creating twisted little songs that are as in-your-face as they are difficult to categorize.

Surrogat
Shards of guitar writhe above driving bass and drums, while the singer urgently pleads for something -- in German. But you don't have to be bilingual to appreciate the strained power of his words.

To Rococo Rot
This Berlin-based instrumental trio creates a complex world with warm, busy textures, smooth rhythms, and off-kilter sampling that reflects both a love for pop music and an inclination towards art school experimentalism. To Rococo Rot's music subtly bridges the divide between rock and electronic music.
