Jigsaw Records

This Seattle-based record label has put out some great albums and singles in the past, but unfortunately has no plans to put anything else out. You can pick a lot of these records up from the Jigsaw Records web site.

Boyracer
Delightfully noisy pop punk filled with riotous guitar squalls, wistful vocals, and extremely bouncy rhythms. Fans of twee pop, noise pop, and Brit pop will be lining up around the corner for this band.

Rhythm of the Chicken Shake Seven-Inch
We Are Made of the Same Wood - 1996

Cessna
This Finnish quartet plays dreamy, feather-light indie pop that floats across the clouds even more smoothly than the aircraft the band is named for.

Holiday on Ice Seven-Inch - 1997

Charms
Not much remains to document the existence of this enigmatic early '90s U.K. indie pop group, except for a small collection of truly great tunes. Whoever they were, they sure knew how to write a great pop song!

Happen To Lull - 1995

Leslies
The Leslies are Swedish kids who make good clean guitar-pop. It's nicely produced, fiendishly catchy stuff with more than a little in common with American indie popsters like Boyracer and The Aislers Set.

Of Today - For Today - 1999

Pillowcase
Pillowcase was just a little one-off project for a couple of Seattle indie pop kids. The collaboration yielded only nine minutes of recorded material, but it's nine great minutes of muddy, melodic lo-fi pop.

Dine n' Dash - 1996

The Poconos
They weren't around long, but while they were, New Jersey duo The Poconos delighted with toe-tapping, heart-skipping lo-fi pop that celebrated young love.

Days Are Getting Shorter Seven-Inch - 1999

Rocketship
Sacramento tunesmiths Rocketship mix their lo-fi bedroom pop with the swirling guitar-and-organ drones of U.K. shoegazer pioneers, to delightful effect.

A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness - 1995
All the Pleasures Seven-Inch - 1997

Suretoss
A delightfully soupy explosion of loud lo-fi noise-pop that should please fans of Boyracer and Archers of Loaf.

Quiet Christmas Seven-Inch
Like the Sun Seven-Inch - 1995
