Engine Recordings
other resources: message board

Engine Recordings is focused on signing cutting-edge underground dance music from both sides of the pond. The label boasts releases from London tech-house dons Layo & Bushwacka! and Mr. C, and U.S. trance guru Chris Fortier. Both Engine Recordings and Loosegroove are owned by the Will Records group, which has been responsible for releasing works from Fila Brazilia, Hi-Fi Killers, and The Funky Precadent.

Mr. C - [Engine Recordings] [message board]
If anyone has been there, seen it, and done it in the underground dance music scene, then it's ex-Shamen frontman Mr.C. He is the leader of the tech-house scene in London, co-owns The End Nightclub with Layo Paskin, and even has a fish and chip shop named after him. Check it.

An American DJ with a global pedigree, Fortier brings trance back to its dark, atmospheric roots. There's not a whiff of cheese here.

Layo and Bushwacka! take the best elements of acid, house, techno, and breakbeat to create a brand new dance sound for the naughties. This is inspirational future music from two London producers who refuse to be pigeonholed.
