Dreams By Degrees

San Francisco's Dreams by Degrees is a kindly place for progressive sounds "where the winds and forget-me-nots blow." The label invites artists of all stripes to participate in conceptual release series each year. Dreams by Degrees inaugural series was based on the seasons, featuring Winter by Coastal, Spring by Colophon, Summer by Loquat, and Fall by Loquat, all limited 10-inch vinyl releases. In 2003, the label unveils a series of CDs by various artists inspired by colors.

Coastal
What's it like to spend a winter in Provo, Utah? If it's anything like the music of Coastal -- who call the town home -- it's quiet, beautiful, and peaceful, like a pleasant dream.

Coastal - 2001
Winter EP - 2001

Colophon
Colophon is Tarentel guitarist Jefre Cantu's pseudonym for his excursions into the world of fragile, drifting electro-acoustic abstraction.

Spring - 2002

Loquat
The San Francisco quintet Loquat offers gently lilting, sublimely understated female-fronted pop songs with a poignant and intimate flavor.

Fall EP - 2002

Sappington
San Francisco duo Sappington blends ambient electronic sounds with blissfully spacey pop. It's a surprisingly enticing combination: sinouous, ethereal, exotic, and quietly lovely.

Sappington - 2000
Summer - 2002
