Started in early 1992 by members of the band Current. Council Records had an influential role in the mid-west emo/hardcore scene of the early 90's.
Chino Horde
Chino Horde transcends all concepts of time. While the band broke up in the early/mid nineties, their sounds and ideas remain a benchmark for today's "emo" bands. Like Rites of Spring, Chino Horde recorded timeless and intelligent punk rock.

Ottawa
Ottawa, the crustcore alter ego of the influential emo band Current,
existed for only six months, played just a handful of shows, and
recorded only 13 songs, all of which appeared on a self-released split 12-inch with fellow Michiganders Jihad.
