Barsuk Records
Barsuk Records (bar-suke, from the Russian for "badger") is named after a dog, a very friendly black lab/pit-bull mix who is loved by all who meet him. Indie pop fans from all over have been having the same response to Barsuk's releases, and with good reason.
Members of This Busy Monster founded the label in 1994 to put out their own records. Recently, the label has begun to release records by other bands they like, guided by the simple administrative principles of artist fairness and good old-fashioned love.
Abigail Grush
Abigail Grush's super-quirky multi-instrumental pop music could easily be the
soundtrack to a demented cartoon opera written by the lunatic offspring of Matt Groening and Laurie Anderson.

Little Champions
Pop bands may be a dime a dozen, but pop this smart and irresistible is priceless. A bewitching blend of jangly guitars, bubbling keyboards, and soaring boy-girl vocals makes Little Champions the coolest band in the sandbox.

This Busy Monster
This Busy Monster should get a picture and a write-up in the rock and roll dictionary next to the entry for "off-kilter pop." Sometimes playful, sometimes malevolent, this talented band plays uneasy songs that are both
abstract and intimate.
