Founded by Greg Glover and Dan Ralph back in 1995 over a couple pints of beer, the Brooklyn-based Arena Rock Recording Company has since grown into a very respectable and very eclectic little independent label. Its diverse catalogue features releases by Luna, Elf Power, Superdrag, Illyah Kuryahkin, and more.
The Birdwatcher
The Birdwatcher is the pseudonym for Windsor for the Derby's Dan Matz as he undertakes experiments and explorations in spartan minimalism, hypnotic repetition, and stylistic variation.
Luna
One of the seminal independent rock bands of the '90s, Luna forged a distinctively drowsy, gauzy style which influenced the shoegazer and slo-core aesthetics. They're still plugging after half a dozen albums, still just as dreamily wonderful as ever.
Superdrag
If you're into bombastic power-pop, Superdrag is your holy grail. The Knoxville, Tennessee outfit combines fuzzy aggression with enough delicious melodies and satisfying hooks to feed a starving village.
