The past few years has seen SXSW's hip-hop roster grow from showcasing just regional and southern acts to boasting legendary names such as Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Raekwon, and Kanye West. With as big and influential of an event that SXSW is to the music industry, it's no surprise that hip-hop's presence in the festival has been growing rapidly over the past few years.
This years festival offers a host of buzz-worthy hip-hop acts currently making waves in the realm of underground hip-hop. No matter your taste in hip-hop there is sure to be an act for you whether it's Kendrick Lamar's conscious stylings, Schoolboy Q's own brand of street rap, or Danny Brown's shock rap something will surely suffice. Artists making notable reappearances this year are Big K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, Curren$y, and Das Racist.
In short, SXSW 2012 offers up a smorgasbord of top-notch hip-hop acts. Here are a few of my recommendations of acts to look out for at this years festival.
