In four days I am driving 818 miles; about 14 hours to my hometown in New York. I'll be driving all through the night to hopefully make it home by morning. It's the first time I have been home in about a year. Of course the main reason for my girlfriend and I's journey is the holidays, but it's going to be really nice to take a 13 day break from the city, work, school, and just the hectic life of two kids in their 20s.

I'm not looking forward to the task of driving 14 hours, but I'm really looking forward to the sights on the journey and hopefully the adventure. I'm going to complain the entire way, and certainly be annoyed but I know what lies on the other side of those 14 hours and it's going to be worth it. It's going to be hard to stop myself from driving 100mph once we are within an hour's range but I think I'll manage.

I have a ton of things on my "to do" list while I'm home for those 13 day. I don't care about obligations when I'm home or the dreaded holiday family gatherings at relative's homes, and I certainly don't care about all the kids I hate from home because it's just going to be the best to finally head home for a while.
