One thing that is always on my mind is playing music. I try to sit down and play guitar or bass every single day. Even if the day is absolutely packed with obligations, I try and make at least a little time to play something. One thing that I really enjoy about playing music is music equipment. When my hands hurt too much to keep playing, or it's too late and I don't want to bother my neighbors, I'm looking at new equipment online. I'll spend hours a night looking through forums, eBay, Craigslist, or just online stores website looking at gear to buy. It doesn't matter if I can't afford the equipment right now, but I want to have a massive collection of gear some day.

Multiple times I've gone into a guitar store with barely enough money to pay rent and eat, but I'll walk out with some new pedals, a guitar, or some accessory I didn't need at all. I'll be left struggling to pay rent, or eating crappy meals for a few days, but it's always worth it. I'm always looking for news sounds out of different amps, with different guitars, new effects, and new tunings. I really feel like sometimes I spend too much time looking into new gear, but I can't help it.

I'm not trying to fool anyone though. While I've been playing music and some instruments for years, I'm not a master of any. I like to think I'm a decent bass player, but I prefer to play guitar privately. Not that I care if anyone thinks I may suck, I just don't think I'm good enough to warrant some of the gear I own. One great thing I do feel about playing music is that just because you can't really play an instrument well, doesn't mean you shouldn't play it. Even though some may think I may not be that great at guitar, I still love to play it everyday.
