I've been thinking about my playlist for a couple of days now and I'd narrowed it down to two VERY different subjects. The first is quite serious and something I've dealt with every day for a few weeks now -- Occupy Chicago. I can't admit to being out there beating their drums, holding handmade signs, or wearing V for Vendetta masks. I merely work across the street and have walked through or past their protest. I'm not going to use this playlist as a place to spout my views about what they're doing because to be honest, I'm on the fence about what I think. To be honest, I'm actually quite amazed that even though it's been raining all day, they seem to be louder than ever.

And NOW for the fun subject... FOOTLOOSE! When I heard the radio playing Kenny Loggins while out for lunch and listened to the Pandora ad that came on as soon as I got back to my desk, I knew Footloose was playlist-worthy. First of all, if you haven't heard, the remake opens today. I was shocked and appalled when news of the remake broke this summer. You CAN'T beat that original cast -- Kevin Bacon, John Lithgow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Penn, Dianne Wiest, and Lori Singer! And the soundtrack?! Those songs are classic. AND the dancing? Who doesn't remember Kevin Bacon's gymnastics/dance routine in the warehouse?

Who knows, maybe the remake will actually do the original justice. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the sake of all those random 80s movies given the Hollywood millennial makeover.
