Yann Fontaine
Brique Rouge
From his studio in Mont Saint Aignan, 130 kilometers outside Paris, Yann Fontaine produces warm spiritual house a la New York's Joe Claussell, Francois Kevorkian, and Danny Krivit. Since debuting in '99 on House of 909's Expanded Soul label, Fontaine has built a formidable catalog of releases on the likes of Brique Rouge, Groovecentral, Slip 'n' Slide Blue, Foreplay, Serial, Simple Soul, Low Pressings, and his own Ryzms. Combining vintage synths with midtempo syncopated beats and warm undulating chords, Fontaine's sound will appeal to house veterans and newcomers alike. "Soul Fonction" is taken from The Yann Fontaine Project Vol.2 on Brique Rouge and "Foreverinyourlove" is available on Darran Nugent's superb Elevation Recordings. The "Original Mix" of "Changing My Emotions" was released on New York's finest Square Room Records.
