Tim Baker
Elephanthaus Records

Born and bred in techno's scared birthplace, Detroit, Tim Baker spent most of the late '80s and early '90s promoting and DJing underground parties up and down the East Coast. Baker's technical excellence behind the wheels of steel gained him numerous gigs across Europe, notably in France, Germany, and the U.K. Since relocating to Chicago, Baker has been developing his two labels -- Real Estate (predominantly house) and Elephanthaus (solely techno) -- with artists such as Tyree Cooper, Daniell Spencer, Stacy Kidd, Gene Hunt, DJ Jes, and Murat. Audio Implant, Baker's debut full-length on Elephanthaus features ten tracks of minimal, compressed techno that Cari Lekebusch, Adam Beyer, and Joel Mull would be proud of. "New Life Form" and "Scorpio" are two such tracks. "Soul Provider (757 Mix)," "Rio," and "Revival" are past vinyl releases in Elephanthaus's extensive catalog.
