The Olive Group
Post-Parlo Records
Austin's The Olive Group combines the catchiest elements of indie rock and classic pop to make music that's as sweet as their namesake is salty. Their songs combine the smooth jazziness of The Sea and Cake with the earnest poppiness of Aspera Ad Astra. Their gentle pop songs seem to float along, tethered to earth only by the occasional rumble of drums.
In 2000, The Olive Group released Blue, a CDEP on Austin's Post-Parlo records. "Blue," "Cat and Mouse," and "Seem To Say," all featured here, are from that EP. The band also has a split seven-inch with Those Peabodys.
