The French Kicks
My Pal God Records
They lie in wait. This self-titled four song CDEP (Recorded at Waterworks Studios with engineer Greg Talenfeld) will be the first introduction for most of you to New York City's The French Kicks. Formed in the spring of 1998, The French Kicks attempt to strip down sound through angular motions ripe with rhythm and rooted in melody. Their songs are set apart by the vocal interplay between
3/4 of the band, who split up the lead vocal duties and at times share the center-mic with nontraditional vocal blends. An exercise in frenetic glamour, there is a little bit of glitter in the teeth for these four handsome devils.
