The Electroliners

Electroliners is the collaborative duo of Jim Hopkins and DJ Dan, two SF-based DJ/Producers. "Loose Caboose," ignited many a dance floor in the underground scene when it hit the streets in 1995. The funky/acidy sounds that pervade this track are characteristic of the funky west coast breaks sound which defined the Bay Area "rave" sound in the mid-90s. "Loose Caboose" is a bona fide underground classic which has found its way into the record bags of many a dj and record collector.

Although breakbeats have gone mainstream with the British/American "big beat" explosion thanks to Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, and The Prodigy, The Electroliners remain one of the early "big beat" innovators that set the stage for this late 90s phenomenon. DJ Dan and Jim Hopkins have since moved on to pursue their own separate production and remixing projects, thus The Electroliners have only this one release to their credit.
