Sunset Valley
Sugar Free Records
This is a complete and total sugar rush from Chicago's Sugar Free Records (feel the irony). These records hold the aesthetic of indie rock in the fire to fuel a rocket trip to a higher ozone. Sunset Valley writes infective pop songs and then adds every bloody instrument in their studio- especially keyboards and Moogs- to promote the cause of a full on epidemic. These guys are twisted with their melodies and arrangements, yet never deviate from the perfect pop song. Imagine Supergrass in the studio with Brainiac and then have Ric Ocasek from The Cars produce it. Yeah, it's that good.
