Splendorbin
Miner Street Records

Splendorbin was created in 1994 by four University of Pennsylvania students: Kwame Johnson (now in Jettison Flammable), Bill Elliott, Nyles Lannon, and Jason McKibben (both of whom recently played in Reizoko and China, the Beautiful). Soon a favorite among Penn students, Splendorbin provided its own higher education curriculum, cranking out show after blistering show, headlining night after night at the now-imfamous Pi Lam "fraternity" house (one of the best underground venues in Philly at the time). Joining forces with other Philadelphia mainstays like Lenola, Asteroid #4, and Stinking Lizaveta, Splendorbin became an integral part of a wonderful era in Philadelphia rock history -- the centerpiece of an innovative, enthusiastic, supportive scene which has survived for a number of years.

Splendorbin recorded with Steve Albini in '96 and released a record with the now-defunct Divine Records label. After a brief tour the band broke up. If you are interested in getting a copy of the Splendorbin CD, please contact r2baca@hotmail.com
