Song Of Zarathustra
Troubleman Unlimited
Song of Zarathustra have been working hard as adamant doom purveyors, ardent nihilists, wrathful maniacs, and Nietzsche disciples (well I don't know -- see their name, and the title of their first album, The Birth of Tragedy) since the winter of 1997. Their sound blends the Armageddon-like artillery power of Neurosis (they feature both a drum machine and a live drummer), the noisy art-punk hysteria of Antioch Arrow, and the speedy math rock complexity of Drive Like Jehu. As you might guess, this combination makes for a challenging -- and borderline overwhelming -- listen. Buckle your safety belt.
The featured track is an unreleased live version of a song from the band's debut LP, which came out in November 2000.
