It's kind of ridiculous how much punk rock history there is in this band, but a new band of this caliber would never settle complacently into the "remember when..." mentality. Led by the sneers of singer Chris Thompson, Skull Kontrol has successfully captured the legend and power of its members' past punk rock efforts, while successfully developing a unique and modern sound. Thomson's snarling Brit vocals, coupled with post-riot grrl anti-harmonies over a piercing, feedback-laden guitar, give Skull Kontrol a destructive and glorious feverish sound, kinda like the Monorchid taken to the next level. Self-inflicted aural pain has never been so fun!
