It's four in the morning, you have been dancing to ferociously fast house for the past few hours and, to put it mildly, you've had enough. You head for the chill out room, and if you're lucky, these are the sounds you will hear emanating from the speakers. Rob Paine produces music for the late night aficionado. Don't expect 150 BPM peak house trance because you won't get it. Deep, low-slung basslines and wispy female vocals are his specialty and you can hear the pride he takes in his work.
You may recognize Paine from his work under a few other pseudonyms. He records as Kidz On Christian St. with Chris Udoh (of Wamdue Kids) and also as Solomonic Sound with Zack Eberz. He has also worked with DJ Garth and the Grayhound label, which may go some way to explaining why his sound has such a distinctive San Francisco slant. If you like deep, late night house Rob Paine is your man.
