You might feel like you've heard Quagmire before. They've got all the basic qualities of a "modern rock" band you might find on an "alternative" radio station. But the very qualities that make most "modern rock" groups sound bland and prepackaged (compressed drums, overdubbed vocals, etc.) actually work in Quagmire's favor. The group definitely knows how to use the studio to its fullest potential, but behind the studio polish there is also some damn good songwriting, which sets Quagmire miles apart from the rest of the herd.

"Depth Unknown" and "Long Way Down" come from Quagmire's eponymous release for Dept. of Ways & Means. Each song showcases the trio's ability to mix wall-of-sound guitars and driving rhythms with plaintive and emotional vocals.
