Otaku

What to do with a consciousness altered by junk food and video games, and filled with contextless information? The two bitwise operators that comprise Otaku, Colonel 32 and NaN, have created an album of cinematic break-scapes that resonate with a eerie, mechanical beauty. Hip hop and drum and bass rhythms are soaked in sci-fi/horror/thriller timbres of analog synthesizers and industrial styled loops, then scrubbed and refrigerated.

Originating from a PC-produced soundtrack for a friend's art installation, the final mixes on the album tell very dark dub tales of the raw and primal urges that lie beneath the surface of a technology-saturated, plastic lined suburban existence. This is new-school death disco for style-obsessed electronica geeks with closets full of PiL, Depeche Mode, and Skinny Puppy.
