Niko Bellotto

Sweden's Niko Bellotto has been wooing crowds as a DJ since the late '80s. He picked up his first gigs while living in Spain, before moving to Argentina to ply his trade there for a couple of years. Now back on his home turf, Bellotto is making a name producing fathoms-deep house and techno on local Stockholm labels such as Loop Records, Plumphouse, and his own Tangent Beats, Che Records, and Fractal Trax. He has also made his mark on Plastic City, Suburbia (a Plastic City sub-label), Alexi Delano's renegade Test 542, and Prime Distribution's in-house techno label, Primate.

"Deep In" is featured on the deep house compilation X Marks The Spot, a joint venture between Pawel Kobak's Route 33 and Bellotto's own Tangent Beats. Bellotto's thick, warm sound is very reminiscent of fellow Swedes such as Jesper Dahlback and Alexi Delano. Indeed, he regularly collaborates with both producers behind the mixing desk, not to mention Adam Beyer, Pawel Kobak, and Microman. Be on the lookout for current and forthcoming releases from the likes of Casey Hogan, Laid, Martin Venetjoki, Joel Mull, Hakan Lidbo, and Tony Senghore on the Tangent Beats imprint, and help support our friends at Route 33 and Tangent Beats by picking up a copy of X Marks The Spot if you can.
