Lakuna is the creation of former Throwing Muses drummer David Narcizo. This lavish project breathes the rich oxygen of desolate tribal islands' tranquil shores into David's hip hop beats and into the instruments of his guest musicians. Vibes, organs, strings, samples, percussion, wind instruments, bass, and Kristin Hersh guitar move together in and out of delicate arrangements with a subtlety that relies on serenity and the natural rhythm of the heart. This is truly music that you feel as well as hear, as the sounds extinguish thoughts of rush hour traffic and replace them with images of blue-green water and white sand.
