Kody Ervin burst onto the Toronto hip hop scene back in 2008 when -- at only fourteen -- his track "Dear Sound Click" was named as an outstanding finalist at the tenth annual SoundClick awards. But Kody's passion for hip hop had been building for some time, founded in appreciation for Jay-Z, Wu-Tang, and A Tribe Called Quest and aided by growing up in a town with a thriving hip-hop scene. In 2006, that passion lead to a Christmas morning filled with recording gear, and the rest -- as they say -- is history.
The years following his honors at SoundClick were filled with relentless touring, perfecting his sound and message. Working with artists such as D12, Royce Da 5'9", and even jazz pianist Eddie Bullen has allowed Kody to flex his broad reach while remaining true to his voice.
2010 ended on a high note with Kody winning an emcee competition held by Universal Music Canada. The prize included a trip to New York City, where Kody wowed a team of Universal execs with his dedication, determination, and his ability to speak to his fans.
As evidenced by the epic opening of "Feel That", Kody has spent the past year crafting a slew of releases, each promising to be more exciting than the next.
