Kidz On Christian St.
Worship Recordings
Philadelphia house music pioneer and underground advocate Rob Paine is a man of many pursuits. As the brain behind Worship Recordings, he can also be found masquerading as Solomonic Sound with partner in crime Zach Eberz. Together they toured the States for the best part of '99, even opening for Linton Kwesi Johnson, along with a plethora of drummers, bassists, and saxophonists. Paine is heavily influenced by the reggae, hip hop, jazz, and punk rock he grew up on in the '80s and this is very evident in his production. Paine formed the Kidz On Christian Street with Chris Udoh, in '99.
Udoh, of course, needs no introduction. As one third of the Wamdue Kids with Chris Brann and Deep C, his music is enjoyed by thousands on and off the dance floor. As the Kidz On Christian Street, Paine and Udoh reach out to the late night crowd with their deep and minimal blend of echoed vocals, wandering keys, and low-slung bass. Their smooth midnight cocktail should keep the jocks happy and the people bopping.
