Bergen, in Norway, is not the place you would expect to look for the newest developments in drum and bass. That is, not until Tee Bee and K started producing. Now internationally recognized through their work on Hopa and Bones's (now defunct) A-Level imprint, the (very much alive) Moving Shadow label and (moving upwards and upwards at a rate of knots) Certificate 18, the two have decided to go it alone with their own label, Subtitles.
Since he was 15, K (real name Kjetil Dale Sagstad -- try saying that after a pint or two), has been making music that has had A&R heads frothing at the mouth and (more importantly) people shakin' their booties. He also records as Polar for Paul Arnold's diverse Certificate 18 label. He uses tight crisp breaks, ice-cold chords, and highly (without being overly) produced effects in all his work, and has duly won the respect of the premier league DJs across the world. This debut for Subtitles may well be his best work to date; you be the judge. "7th Avenue" is taken from K's 2002 release on West Coast drum and bass imprint Thermal Recordings.
