Denver's Ilk are producing state-of-the-art tech-house that would work in a number of different settings. You could play this music in a dank subterranean warehouse or a high-class art gallery and it would sound perfect.
Ilk is new wave and industrial aficionado Doug Cavender and bass player turned hip hop fiend Mark Orosz. They have produced a number of tracks for the cutting-edge Straylight imprint, home to like-minded deep tech heads such as Phaedra and Seafoam (Guidance Recordings). These four tracks are prime examples of their uncompromising approach to production. Ultimately funky percussion provides the base for innovative synth programming and deep textured chords. This is intelligent electronic music with soul akin to Swayzak, Losoul, and early Nightmares On Wax.
