Glynis formed in the small, isolated city of Midland, Michigan, where they honed their skills an instrumental rock band. Over the years, they moved from simpler forms to more sprawling, emotional pieces, and with that growth, they moved to Chicago to record their first and final full-length, All My Parts Are Pretty Soft. Glynis helped pave the way for a briefly-healthy youth music scene in Midland, and are still one of the better known indie rock bands from the town. Their final line-up consisted of Jay Miller (Aspiring to be a Hill), Nathan Penney (sometimes Aspiring to be a Hill), Jake Mercieca (ex-Coeptus), Gee White (ex-Coeptus), and John Layko Torkelson.
