David Duriez

David Duriez is well known in deep house circles both for his Brique Rouge and Brique Bleu labels and for his exemplary deep house productions. As one half of Les Macons De La Musique (with respected F Communications recording artist Ludovic Llorca), and alone, Duriez has been pushing the boundaries of deep and tech-house ever since he took to the mixing board. He has a rich back catalog on labels such as Filth, Subscience, Jinxx, 20:20 Vision, and WEA. His debut release for Ralph Lawson's respected 20:20 Vision imprint, the Plastic Music Under Blister EP, was a huge hit on the underground circuit and helped place Duriez firmly in the media spotlight.

As a DJ, Duriez has played alongside all the greats, including Francois K, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Paul Johnson, and Roger Sanchez, in his hometown of Paris, across France, and in parts of Western Europe. His mixing style mirrors his production -- deep. Both "Gimme A Fresh One" and "A Trip To Montreux," from the Gimme A Fresh One EP, combine moody chords with complex weaving drums and occasional vocal samples. The raw, chugging "One Drop Does It" is featured on the First Flight EP on Elevation Recordings alongside tracks from label boss Darran Nugent (Aruba), Fish Go Deep, and Yann Fontaine. If you like the work of Alton Miller, Glenn Underground, and DJ Rasoul, David Duriez is the man for you. Now that the word is out, look out for forthcoming releases from Duriez on premier U.K. and U.S. house imprints.
