DAT Politics
Tigerbeat6
Every music fan faces the challenge of finding something fresh, something that knocks your socks off with surprises and new sounds. This problem can be especially bleak when one examines electronic music. When you've heard the TR-808 used for the millionth time or when a producer drops the Amen break right where you expect it to fall, a sense of disappointment sweeps over any fun-loving fan. DAT Politics may very well be your antidote.
The French group's vinyl-only debut full-length, Tracto Flirt, has been reissued on CD in America with a couple of bonus tracks. An undeniable sense of playfulness permeates their every composition. One minute the music sounds like the soundtrack to a warped video game, the next it has you shifting around in your chair, tapping your feet, and fighting the urge to dance.
