Justin Deighton is a well-respected tech-house producer whose licks have appeared on the gone but not forgotten Pacific Records. In the late '90s Deighton set up his own label,
Product Deluxe, to showcase like-minded London producers such as Digital Rhythms, Soul Patrol, and Eastside Movement. Simultaneously, Deighton pursued his own production career under the name Dark Boogie. Surrey-based record emporium-turned-label, Humboldt County, renowned for their exemplary choices in underground tech-housery, was one of the first labels to peruse his portfolio. They skillfully picked "Belly Band" and "Fan Assisted" for an EP they coined The Boogie. Both tracks blend off-kilter beats, darkish chords, and bottom heavy bass riffs in boisterous late night style.
