Beastie Boy Adam "Adrock" Horovitz and Amery "AWOL" Smith -- or BS2000 as they are more commonly known -- are masters of the Emu SP 1200. Their first vinyl-only release for Grand Royal Records, Nobody Beats BS2000, was performed almost exclusively using said '80s machine. Their follow-up project, Simply Mortified, features 20 tracks, the longest of which is just over three minutes. "The Scrappy" is a clear indication that these two elusive young American producers have more '80s equipment up their sleeves, most of it made by a company called Casio. Head
