Bass Age is a production triumvirate consisting of DJ Shakra of The Lumpheads fame and cohorts Simon Mattocka and Rob Aitken. Recorded at Rare Studios in London, "Disco Direction" exemplifies the U.K. take on disco-derived house with its energized and dubby character. The music is not only effective in British clubs, but it also translates quite well to the Bay Area and West Coast scene, where people go for a house sound that can be disco-influenced but also bears underground hallmarks.
