Beck
Sea Change
Geffen Records
Fans and critics alike often ponder the question "what's next for
Beck?" before he hits the studio to record each album. He's a man of ecclectic taste, to say the least. But no
Beck fan could have predicted such a departure from his debaucherous days of dance hits and chameleon-like genre hopping.
Sea Change is a sultry light-hearted and light-headed journey down a dusty road. Sometimes as rootsy as
Neil Young's Harvest and almost as spacey as
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon,
Sea Change is the most organic and free-spirited album since
One Foot In the Grave.
Beck sounds sad but comfortable doing whatever he wants on
Sea Change.
