"Spoonful of Sugar" is not the song from Mary Poppins. It was written by the '60s rock band The Gants, and it's a sing-along party waiting to happen! The song has a jaunty, twangy tone that's perfect for riding the range, topped with a chorus as sweet as the song's title. The Of Montreal version of the song originally appeared on a Gants seven-inch tribute on 100 Guitar Mania, and it is available once again on horse and elephant eatery (no elephants allowed): the singles and songles album (Bar/None Records). The album contains singles, previously unreleased material, covers, and "songles," which are songs that have not appeared on a full-length album but have been released in some other form (keyboardist Dottie Alexander coined the term)
