The Black Heart Procession
Amore Del Tropico
Touch and Go Records
Black Heart's 2002 release
Amore Del Tropico, their fourth long-player (and first non-numerically titled album), is a more upbeat affair, not a difficult task considering how gloriously sad the first three albums were. It's the first album the group has recorded in their new home studio and features some south-of-the-border influences that sometimes recall labelmates
Calexico. It's also the band's first concept record, purportedly providing the soundtrack to a tropical murder mystery. But while the album is a bit of a departure, all that you know and love about
Black Heart Procession remains very much present here.
